New Tool Makes Scheduling Mammogram Appointments Easier Than Ever
Sign up for Health Tips for Women Over Age 40 for Chance to Win a Pink Tablet
San Ramon Regional Medical Center has launched a new online self-scheduling platform for outpatient imaging services in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, providing a simple, accessible, digital-first approach to scheduling care. Through their new mobile-friendly online platform, patients have a more convenient way to schedule screenings when and where they need them.
“Too often women can put off regular screening because scheduling can be time-consuming or confusing,” said Paul Bhangu, director of the San Ramon Imaging Center. “Online scheduling not only simplifies the process, but it puts patients in control, allowing them to book eligible mammography appointments at their convenience, enabling women with specific concerns to get the answers they need more quickly and efficiently, and taking a proactive role in their health.”
Regular screening mammograms are an important tool for detecting changes and ultimately discovering breast cancer early, when it is more easily and effectively treated. If a woman senses something looks or feels different with their breast, or is experiencing pain that won’t go away, they can now quickly schedule a diagnostic mammogram to get answers and peace of mind faster than ever. This is important because the five-year relative survival rate for breast cancers detected and treated early, before they have spread beyond the breast, is more than 99 percent.[1]
To help celebrate the launch of the new tool, San Ramon Regional Medical Center is offering community members a chance to win a pink tablet through October by signing up to receive a short series of health tips about metabolism, thyroid, perimenopause, menopause, breast cancer, and more to help you navigate the twists and turns of women's health. Beyond convenience, timely scheduling can help reduce the anxiety that often accompanies breast and general health concerns. Eligible patients can secure appointments quickly, with some imaging exams available within 48 hours. Should additional diagnostic imaging or follow-up testing be needed, patients benefit from continuity of care within the same center and care team, helping streamline the journey from screening to diagnosis.
During October, the Center has opened online appointments for two Saturdays, October 17 and 31, to accommodate patients who may not be able to schedule a screening during normal business hours. The Center believes its online scheduling will help more individuals connect with the imaging services they need, when they need them, with greater convenience and confidence than ever before. This new capability reflects San Ramon Regional Medical Center's broader commitment to delivering an enhanced patient experience while maintaining caring, trusted, and courteous service to patients and the community. Patients who have discussed imaging with their healthcare provider and have received an order can schedule online at: SanRamonMedCtr.com/Imaging.
