Labor and Delivery
Dedicated to a positive birthing experience for you
San Ramon Regional Medical Center is dedicated to excellence in labor and delivery. Every patient has access to private labor, delivery, and recovery rooms. Our team consists of registered nurses, operating room technicians, certified nurses’ assistants, childbirth educators and unit secretaries who work together to provide you and your baby the best care possible. All registered nurses on the floor are trained in the high-risk obstetrical care and are certified in fetal monitoring.
Our team is here for you
Our team is experienced in caring for mothers and babies in high-risk pregnancies, helping to reduce your risk of complications. A specialist will identify, diagnose and treat any disorders or problems that may develop during your pregnancy. If you need a cesarean section, we will take the necessary steps to make sure you have a safe delivery and will give your child constant monitoring to assure he or she is comfortable and healthy. If anything should change with your baby’s status, we have a Level II special care nursery available. A neonatologist is on call at all times.
First moments with your newborn
Your newborn is welcome to room with you after delivery. If your baby is in the nursery, you can request that he or she be brought to you at any time of the day or night. You will also receive instruction on baby care and self-care to assure you’re comfortable with taking your baby home. Our experience nurses are available to help answer any questions you may have about breastfeeding while in the hospital.
