“The Patient and Community Advisory Council is a vital component to San Ramon Regional Medical Center. We believe partnering with patients and family members improves our ability to deliver excellent healthcare,” said Ann Lucena, CEO of San Ramon Regional Medical Center. “Input and involvement from the communities we serve provides important feedback to our programs and services.”

The council’s mission is to promote patient-centeredness across all aspects of care, to provide input about the current and future healthcare needs of the community, and to build better community relationships by incorporating community views into hospital planning and decision-making.

Council members have the opportunity to offer information and recommendations on the patient experience, services offered, and community perception to the San Ramon Regional Medical Center leadership team.

The Patient and Community Advisory Council meets between two and four times a year. Meetings are scheduled at times that are mutually agreed upon by all members, and will be held in person or via video conference, as appropriate. Meetings take approximately 90 minutes.

Potential members of the advisory council must be willing to:

  • Listen to differing opinions and share different points of view
  • Share insights and information about their experiences in ways that others can learn from
  • See beyond their personal experiences
  • Show concern for more than one issue or agenda
  • Respect diversity and the perspectives of others

If you are interested in serving on the advisory council, please contact Susan Abalos at [email protected].
