San Ramon Regional Medical Center Celebrates National Hospital WeekMay 16, 2022
National Hospital Week is May 8-14, a week specifically set aside to celebrate hospitals and show thanks and appreciation to those who work in them, for the vital role they play in the health of our community.
This year’s theme, We Are Health Care, honors all of our hospital team members for their hard work and dedication to keeping our patients and their families safe and healthy.
“I am endlessly inspired by the strength and commitment demonstrated by our nurses, physicians, caregivers and staff. I’m deeply grateful to them every day for stepping up to support our patients and each other in the most critical moments,” said Ann Lucena, CEO of San Ramon Regional Medical Center. “We are proud to work together every day to ensure every patient in our Tri-Valley community receives high-quality, compassionate care.”
Since 1921, hospitals across the country have been celebrating National Hospital Week. The event has grown over the past 100 years and is now the nation’s largest health care event, providing an opportunity to highlight hospitals, health systems, and health care workers and the innovative ways they are supporting and connected to their community.
At San Ramon Regional Medical Center, we celebrated Hospital Week with special theme days including Favorite Sports Team Day, Retro Day and Favorite Hawaiian Shirt Day. We also hosted a hospital-wide BBQ and held fun Hospital Week activities throughout the week.
In addition, the hospital’s Administration Team put on scrubs and “Walked a Mile” in employees’ shoes. They used the learning opportunity to better understand the work our employees perform every day. Hospital leaders visited numerous units including emergency, operating room, therapy and intensive care.
