National Nurses Week takes place each year on May 6-12, a time to spotlight nurses for the wonderful work they do every day for patients and their families. Nurses are an integral part of our community and San Ramon Regional Medical Center celebrates its nurses throughout the week with special events.

In honor of Nurses Week, the hospital’s Administration Team put on scrubs and walked in nursing shoes. They used the opportunity to understand and learn about the work nurses do every day. Hospital leaders visited numerous units including emergency, operating room, intensive care and birthing center.

“Nurses play an important role in our Community Built on Care. Every day, they provide compassionate, quality care to our patients,” said Wendy Sirivar, Chief Nursing Officer at San Ramon Regional Medical Center. “I am deeply grateful to our nurses and their commitment to the Tri-Valley community.”

San Ramon Regional Medical Center also presented Jodi Weyandt, RN, with the Florence Nightingale Award and Crissy Dunn, RN, and Catrina Bechtold, RN, with the Nursing Excellence Award.
