Pediatric Services

Along with the joy and happiness of raising children comes the occasional injury or illness.

San Ramon Regional Medical Center has dedicated resources to care for your child when life’s uncertain events come along. We have a child-friendly environment to help put you and your child at ease, and our nurses strive to provide the care and nurturing children need.

Inpatient Pediatricians

A pediatrician from Children’s Hospital & Research Center at Oakland works in San Ramon Regional Medical Center 24 hours every day. These doctors attend newborn deliveries, and are available to assist in the Emergency Department, treat and monitor newborns and older children staying in the hospital.

Nurses and Staff

The Pediatric Nurse Coordinator manages the care of each child at San Ramon Regional Medical Center. The Coordinator is a pediatric nurse practitioner with clinical experience. She works with the physicians, nurses and other hospital staff, and offers support and information to patients and their family members.

Nurses specially trained and experienced in pediatrics provide the bedside care throughout the hospital. Our pediatric team of professionals also includes respiratory therapists, who have special training in pediatrics and are available 24 hours a day.

Emergency Department

Our emergency physicians are available 24 hours daily and regularly see children. In addition, an In-Hospital Pediatrician from Children’s Hospital & Research Center at Oakland is available to examine your child in the Emergency Department at your doctors’ request.

Our emergency nurses know that hospitals can be a scary place for a child, as well as stressful for their parents. The nurses, trained in pediatric care, are ready to make your child’s emergency visit as easy as possible.

Hospital Care

If your child needs to stay in the hospital, the In-Hospital Pediatrician can work with your private pediatrician or surgeon to monitor your child’s condition throughout the hospital stay.

Your child will receive nurturing and professional care from pediatric trained nurses on every nursing unit. We consider the individual needs of each child admitted to our hospital to make their stay here comfortable and assuring.

Family Centered Care

We understand a parent can be a child’s best medicine, so parents are welcome to spend the night in the hospital with their child.

We have chairs that unfold into a bed for your comfort, and when possible, we try to provide your child a private room. We have a child friendly menu.

The In-Hospital Pediatrician and the Pediatric Nurse Coordinator are available to answer your questions.
