24-Hour Emergency Services in our newly expanded Emergency Department

San Ramon Regional Medical Center is proud to welcome you to a new era in emergency care and our sparkling new facility for treating everything from cuts and breaks to life-threatening illnesses such as heart attacks and strokes every hour of every day.

Our Emergency Department team of specialists and on-call physicians work quickly and compassionately to deliver 24-hour medical care. Our physicians are trained in emergency medicine, and additional physician specialists are on-call. Because they are part of an acute care hospital, the emergency staff can call on a wide range of diagnostic capabilities, an intensive care unit, cardio-pulmonary services and surgery as needed.

San Ramon Regional is licensed to receive patients by ambulance through the Contra Costa County and Alameda County Emergency Medical Services.

Our 24-hour Emergency Department is equipped and staffed with physicians and nurses experienced in diagnosing and treating heart conditions. Cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, and other medical specialists are on-call for emergencies.

San Ramon Regional is a STEMI Receiving Center for Contra Costa County. A STEMI (ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction) is a high-risk heart attack in which the heart muscle begins to die. A STEMI can be reversed by specialized cardiac procedures that are best given within 90 to 120 minutes of the heart attack victim’s first sign of chest pain.

San Ramon Regional Medical Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ for certification as a Primary Stroke Center. San Ramon Regional is a Stroke Receiving Hospital and part of the Contra Costa County Stroke System launched January 2, 2012, to provide rapid diagnosis and treatment for strokes. The Stroke System provides a coordinated 911 emergency response, linking patients to trained emergency medical providers who identify stroke victims and rapidly transport them to designated primary stroke certified hospitals within a critical four‐hour treatment window. This teamwork is known to significantly reduce brain damage and save lives.

Our emergency staff treat people of all ages, including children. We have specialized equipment, and one pediatrician from Children’s Hospital Oakland is on staff 24 hours a day at the Medical Center to care for infants and children.
