24-Hour Emergency Services
Our Emergency Department team of specialists and on-call physicians work quickly and compassionately to deliver 24-hour medical care. The physicians at San Ramon Regional Medical Center are trained in emergency medicine, and additional physician specialists are on-call. Because they are part of an acute care hospital, the emergency room staff can call on a wide range of diagnostic capabilities, an intensive care unit, cardiopulmonary services and surgery as needed. An expansion of the Emergency Department is planned for 2010.
The hospital is licensed to receive patients by ambulance through the Contra Costa County and Alameda County Emergency Medical Services.
Our 24-hour Emergency Department is equipped and staffed with physicians and nurses experienced in diagnosing and treating heart conditions. Cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, and other medical specialists are on-call for emergencies. San Ramon Regional Medical Center is a STEMI Receiving Center for Contra Costa County. A STEMI (ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction) is a high-risk heart attack in which the heart muscle begins to die. A STEMI can be reversed by specialized cardiac procedures that are best given within 90 to 120 minutes of the heart attack victim’s first sign of chest pain.
Our emergency staff treat people of all ages, including children. Pediatricians from Children’s Hospital and Research Institute in Oakland are on staff 24 hours a day at San Ramon Regional Medical Center to care for infants and children.
In the event emergency care is needed by a minor child and a responsible adult member of the family cannot be reached, a form can be provided that may allow the hospital to administer necessary treatment without delay.
We will be happy to provide copies of the Consent to Treat Minor form. Contact Ask.srrmc@tenethealth.com.
