Dr. Vikram Talwar is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and Spine Surgery. He has been a member of the Spine Institute at Webster Orthopaedic Medical Group since 2005, providing surgical and non-operative care to pediatric and adult patients with disorders of the spine. His special interests include reconstructive pediatric and adult spinal surgery and microsurgery, and the development of minimally invasive techniques in spinal surgery.
Dr. Talwar’s dedication to medicine and his patients is demonstrated by his volunteer time with babies and children at the Haight- Ashbury Free Clinic, Temple University Department of Pediatric, and Oakland Children’s Hospital. He has been involved in ground-level research working to develop new techniques and implants currently available in the treatment of complex spinal disorders.
After graduation from Antioch High School, he attended UC Berkeley. Having completed his medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine, Dr. Talwar went on to internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery through the U.C. Davis and San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Programs. He then completed a one-year fellowship in Spine Surgery at UC Davis Medical Center, where he gained experience in all facets of complex spine surgery, including the treatment of traumatic injuries, complex infections, scoliosis, and degenerative conditions.
