Robert Rovner, M.D., board certified in orthopedic  surgery, specializes in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of spinal conditions in pediatric, adult and elderly patients with an emphasis on the use of minimally invasive techniques wherever feasible and indicated. He treats pediatric deformities such as scoliosis, traumatic injuries such as disc herniations and fractures, and degenerative conditions such as spinal stenosis and disc degeneration.

Dr. Rovner joined the Medical Staff at San Ramon Regional Medical Center in 1990, and joined the prestigious Webster Orthopaedic Medical Group in 1998.  He was appointed Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of California at Davis Medical School in 1998.

Growing up in Washington, D.C., Dr. Rovner attended college and medical school at the University of Maryland. He then moved to California for post-graduate training and completed his internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California at Irvine. He then completed a fellowship in spine surgery at the University of Southern California Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center, specializing in spinal cord injury, spinal deformity and degenerative conditions of the spine.

After completing his training, he opened his private practice in Northern California. He was the first fellowship trained spine surgeon in the Pleasanton area, bringing the treatment of spinal deformity cases to the Tri-Valley area. In 2009, Dr. Rovner completed a two-year Healthcare Master’s in Business Administration at George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
