The goal of this program, designed specifically for the diagnosis and treatment of joint disorders, is to offer improved patient outcomes — improved function and reduced pain. Education is a large component of the Joint Replacement Program.
Under the supervision of a certified orthopedic nurse, patients requiring surgery participate in a team approach to their care which offers pre-operative and post-operative education and physical therapy. As the focal point of the team comprised of the surgeons, nurses, therapists and patient, the patient is provided:
- pre-operative education
- planned, coordinated care while hospitalized
- protocols and treatment plan in collaboration with the surgeons
