Whether you need an explanation about your care program, help in financial planning, or someone to hold your hand and provide comfort, our staff is available for you.
Admitting Desk Hours: 6 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Friday
During other hours, please register in the Emergency Department. Entrance is on the east (back) side of the hospital.
You may pre-register for your hospital stay or outpatient service by calling the Admitting Department at 925-275-8257.
Consent for Treatment
You will be asked to sign a consent-for-treatment form giving us permission to treat you.
The Advance Directive for Healthcare allows you to designate someone to speak for you if you become unable to make decisions about your care. On admission, adult patients are asked if they have a current Advanced Directive. If so, the directive is placed in the patient's medical record. If not, an informational pamphlet and form are available. Request for the pamphlet and form may be made through the Admitting department at 925.275.8231. You are not required to have an Advance Directive in order to receive care.
Pre-admission lab work must be done within seven days of an elective surgery. (A blood type and cross must be done within 72 hours of surgery.) If your pre-admission lab work was done at an outside lab, please bring the test results with you when you're admitted. When coming to San Ramon Regional Medical Center for pre-admission lab work, please allow additional time for registration prior to being seen.
Bloodless Medicine & Surgery
If you plan to participate in the Bloodless Medicine & Surgery Program* during your hospitalization, please notify staff upon admission. The program coordinator will be informed and will meet with you to discuss your wishes. (*See program description page.)
If you are donating your own blood, contact the American Red Cross Blood Bank at 800.669.4348. Blood donations must be at least 7 days and no more that 35 days prior to your surgery.
To ensure accurate patient identification, you will receive an identification wristband when you're admitted. This wristband should be worn at all times while you're in the hospital. A second identification wristband is worn by patients with allergies. Patients choosing to participate in the Bloodless Medicine & Surgery Program also are specifically identified to assure their wishes are followed.
Our hospital offers semi-private rooms and private rooms upon availability. Most insurance plans reimburse for the cost of a semi-private room only. If you prefer a private room and one is available, our Admitting/Registration staff will help make arrangements and tell you the extra costs involved. If all semi-private rooms are occupied, we'll place you in a private room at no additional charge.
Late Hour Admittance
Entrances are locked between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. During those hours please use the Emergency Services entrance on the east (back) side of the hospital.
