In order to provide the type of service as outlined in our Vision Statement, staff at San Ramon Regional Medical Center created goals that support our vision. Our focus is to make these common sense goals common practice at our hospital.

Nursing Excellence Goals

• To remember to greet our patients by name, smile and express our care and concern.
• To introduce ourselves and explain our role.
• To explain the plan of care and educate patients and families.
• To set positive and realistic expectations with our patients, emphasizing what we can do, not what we can't do.
• To anticipate our patient's needs, especially in controlling pain and maintaining comfort.
• To maintain patient dignity, confidentiality, respect and privacy while allowing our patients to make choices in their own recovery.
• To communicate politely and positively with everyone.
• To demonstrate confidence in this facility and our ability to provide quality care.
• To assist our peers and encourage teamwork, while promoting a peaceful environment conducive to healing.

The Service Excellence Goals were adapted from the Nursing Excellence Goals for non-nursing staff.
