   Joint Replacement Program

The goal of this program, designed specifically for the diagnosis and treatment of joint disorders, is to offer improved patient outcomes — improved function and reduced pain. Education is a large component of the Joint Replacement Program.

Under the supervision of a certified orthopedic nurse, patients requiring surgery participate in a team approach to their care which offers pre-operative and post-operative education and group physical therapy. As the focal point of the team comprised of the surgeons, nurses, therapists and patient, the patient is provided:

  • pre-operative education
  • planned, coordinated care while hospitalized
  • protocols and treatment plan in collaboration with the surgeons
  • referral to continued rehabilitative therapy at discharge
