   Patient Accommodations
Throughout your stay, nursing services will be coordinated with your physician to meet your individual needs. Other hospital staff work behind the scenes. All of us want to do all we can to ensure your hospital experience is as comfortable as possible.

Food Service

Our chefs work with a registered dietitian to create dishes that are healthful and artfully prepared. Your physician will inform us of any dietary restrictions you may experience, and we'll plan a menu around them. If you have special dietary needs or requests, please ask your nurse to contact the dietitian for you.

  • Breakfast is served between 8 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch is served between 12 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • Dinner is served between 5 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Telephone Service

Calls will be transferred to your room through the hospital operator between 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. Calls may be made directly to your bedside using the direct dial number provided to you upon admission to the unit. Collect calls may be billed to your home phone or your telephone credit card. You may use any long-distance carrier you choose by dialing the code provided by that carrier.

Telecommunication Device for the Deaf (TDD)

For our deaf and hearing-impaired patients, we provide TDD and amplified hand sets. Ask your nurse for assistance.

Interpreters/Translators

The hospital provides interpretation services for patients and their families in many languages, including sign language. Interpreter services will be arranged by your nurse.

Television, Closed-Caption Decoder

Televisions are provided at no charge. For deaf and hearing-impaired patients, we offer closed-caption television decoders. You may ask your nurse to arrange one for you.

Newspapers

Newspapers may be purchased from newspaper stands located in the dining area of Café Ramon.

Flowers and Mail

Flowers and mail sent to you at the hospital will be delivered to your room by volunteer staff. Mail received after your discharge will be forwarded to your home. Flowers will be returned to the florist.

Smoke-Free Environment

San Ramon Regional Medical Center provides a smoke-free environment within the hospital building. Smoking is permitted only in designated areas:

  • Public courtyards outside the building
  • Thirty (30) feet from outside entrances as indicated by blue lines
