Hip Replacement for Younger, Active Adults: Hip Resurfacing
A free community seminar
If you need a hip replacement and want to return to a more active lifestyle, you will want to attend this educational seminar. The new hip resurfacing technique conserves more natural bone than traditional hip replacement surgery. For eligible active patients, hip resurfacing is designed to end arthritis pain and degenerative hip disease, and to help restore you to an active lifestyle. Unlike traditional hip replacement surgery, resurfacing does not remove as much of your bone. Instead the surgeon removes the rough damaged surface of the hip joint bones and replaces them with more durable high carbide cobalt chrome. For younger patients concerned with the potential of multiple surgeries over their lifetimes, saving natural bone is particularly important. Hip bone conservation is good for older patients if their bones are strong enough to accept the implant. Learn who is a candidate for this surgery, what to expect, and the recovery process.
